Rita was born in England and spent most of her teenage and college years in London before moving to Los Angeles. As a child, she was intrigued by artisan works, textiles, and architectural designs in India. When she moved to the UK at age 17, she was exposed to inventive European high-end fashion and interiors, especially while working with Selfridges and Harrods Department stores. This upbringing shaped her creative outlook in arts and design. Her designs are transitional, a fusion of traditional and modern designs. Her passion for creative design led her to acquire an Associate of Arts in interior design as a means of pursuing her lifelong goal. The totality of her education and experience inspired her artistic side and taught her how to shape and conceptualize ideas. Understated sophistication and effortless luxury are at the core of her designs with layers of different cultures and periods reflected in her designs. As a designer, she is an intuitive creator who is first inspired by the geography of the home or business, clients' tastes, lifestyle, and maximum innovation in designs. Relentless in making sure clients can bring their vision to life, Rita obtained a BA in Business Administration from the University of West London and an Associate of Arts in Interior Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles. Beyond Ritakumari’s professional work, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
